This was confirmed by the Minister of Government, Andrés Meiszner, who also indicated that after more than seven years during which previous governments did not face the debt claimed by the wholesale energy distributor, thus endangering access to electricity for all Chubut residents, since January 2024 the Province has been paying the current bill uninterruptedly.

The Government of Chubut reported that, after intense efforts carried out in Buenos Aires, and after having complied with the payment of part of the historical debt that the Province maintained with the Administrative Company of the Wholesale Electrical Market SA (Cammesa), it was possible to unblock the seizure executed on the accounts of the General Directorate of Public Services of Chubut.

The lifting of the measure, carried out by the national energy distributor, was confirmed this Monday by the Minister of Government of Chubut, Andrés Meiszner, who explained that “after seven years of not paying the debt with Cammesa, the Province began to cover the current starting in January 2024 uninterruptedly.

In this regard, Meiszner referred to the arduous negotiations undertaken by the Government of Chubut to unblock the measure that affects the normal functioning of the provincial body and indicated that, for this purpose, “some agreements to pay part of that debt were signed, with “the commitment to continue paying the current bill.”
