Corrientes: the health condition of the police officer shot by her ex-partner worsened

Bárbara Romero, the non-commissioned officer who was seriously injured during the episode where the police chief’s son was murdered, is in delicate condition. Her family asks the community to pray for her.

In the last hours, the health of non-commissioned officer Bárbara Romero, who was shot by her ex-partner in San Cosme, deteriorated, according to her relatives. Romero was seriously injured on April 13 when her ex-boyfriend, David Medina, wounded her and shot Alfredo Molina, son of the police chief, to death.

On her social networks, Romero’s mother, Tina González, asked: “Please pray for Bárbara, she is in serious condition.” In addition, the police family started a prayer chain to ask for the woman’s health.

González added: “They tell me that she may not walk again, but I know that with her strength she will walk again, and God shows me that every day his hand is on her.” He also expressed that her daughter is “very skinny, very weak, but she has a lot of strength… there are days when she gives me strength,” while he distributes his time between caring for his daughter and her husband, who is also going through a tough illness.

The case

The tragic incident occurred on April 13, when officer Medina, after having been partying at a bowling alley in the Capital and finding out that his ex-girlfriend was with Alfredo Molina, went to his ex-partner’s house in San Cosme to rebuke Molina. In the middle of the night and under the influence of alcohol, the confrontation ended in a shooting. Alfredo Molina died instantly, while Bárbara Romero was seriously injured and was rushed to the Teaching Hospital.

The community and police family remain united in prayer and hope for the recovery of Bárbara Romero.
