Government affirms that the delivery of milk and beef in Artemisa is increasing

The Cuban regime assured this Tuesday that Artemisa producers overfulfilled the milk and beef delivery plan in the last three months thanks to control measures on livestock.

According to a report from the official newspaper Granma In an investigation into livestock carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture, 42,783 violations were found, of which 4,443 were relevant, essentially linked to mass control.

Alcides López Labrada, delegate of Agriculture for the territory, reported that more than 5,000 measures were applied to violators, with 62% effectiveness. Among the actions, 915 fines were applied, with a total amount of seven million pesos.

Since then, of the 767,600 liters of milk that had to be delivered to the industry the Artemiseño ranchers in the period from the 1st. From March to May 10, 799,800 have been received, for an overfulfillment of the plan at 4.19%, said the manager.

López Labrada pointed out that there are still municipalities that do not increase the milk delivery such as Alquízar, Guanajay, Artemisa and Mariel;

While Alquízar, Artemisa and Güira de Melena do not meet their meat delivery quotas.

For years, the Cuban regime has had problems guaranteeing milk for children and other prioritized sectors, to the point that last February it requested official help from the management of the World Food Program (WFP) to be able to face the problems for distribute dairy to children under seven years of age in the country.

Likewise, meat has become a luxury for families. Two weeks ago, activist Aníbal Ferrand walked the streets of Baracoa, asking people when was the last time they ate beef, thus revealing the impact of the economic crisis on the diet of the population in this city.

Ferrand, who usually shows daily life in the eastern city on his social networks, concluded that many people barely remember what the beef.
