The Work Formalization Bonus is an economic benefit aimed at those who enter the formal world of work. Its objective is to promote the integration of people into formal work, encourage contributions to the pension system and protect the worker.
How is the bonus delivered?
This bonus is awarded automatically to people who meet the conditions and it is not necessary to apply. A maximum payment of $279,689 is granted, which is delivered at one time and in one installment.
When does the bonus amount increase?
The Work Formalization Bonus is readjusted once a year. Starting in February 2025, the amount of $279,689 will increase according to the variation in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from the previous year.
It is readjusted on February 1 of each year, considering 100% of the variation experienced by the CPI of the previous year, as explained by Chile Seguridades y Oportunidades.
What are the requirements to receive the bonus?
To be a beneficiary of the Work Formalization Bonus, it is necessary to meet the following conditions:
- Be a user or member of a family that is a user of the Security and Opportunities Subsystem, active in their Socio-Labor Support (ASL) process.
- Be over 18 years old and enter a formal job for the first time.
- Record at least four continuous contributions for health and pensions, or for Unemployment Insurance, declared and paid during the period of effective participation in Socio-Labor Support.
The Ministry of Social Development and Family carries out an internal verification with data and administrative records from other State bodies to determine if the requirements are met. Beneficiaries will receive payment through bank deposit.
If you do not have a bank account, the Ministry of Social Development and Family will request the opening of a Banco Estado RUT Account, without additional procedures or costs for the user.
