The leadership of the Obra Social Provincia (OSP), composed of the controller Rodolfo Fasoli and three managers, increased their salary by 11% and almost 100%, respectively. After this, the permanent employees, supported by the Union of Civil Personnel of the Nation (UPCN), began a series of assemblies in which they decided to carry out a measure of force.

“The idea is to start doing one hour of strike per day starting on Friday. Employees will decide the schedule, depending on the number of members and the flow of attention there is. The idea is that they call us to negotiate and if not, we will take stronger measures,” he told HUARPE DIARY Enrique Funes, union secretary of UPCN.

In this context, the union member said that on Wednesday morning they will present the necessary files to the Ministry of Labor for the measure to be legal. It should be noted that the body can dictate mandatory conciliation and bring the parties together to reach an agreement. “We will see if a conciliation is reached,” he warned.

The specific claim is that employees want there to be “equal pay” between management and workers. The problem is that this must be resolved in salary negotiations between the unions and the Government of San Juan, not between the parties. Another key point they demand is the normalization of some benefits, given that, according to Funes, “there is a lot of violence on the part of members.”

Fact

  • Fasoli went from earning $1,800,000 to $1,970,000.
  • The three managers had an increase from almost $900,000 to $1,900,000.
