The mayor of Santa Marta, Carlos Pinedo Cuello, chaired a Security Council in Santa Marta to address the public order situation and define strategic actions. After the meeting, he announced measures to improve security, including the acquisition of 52 motorcycles and 2 buses for the Metropolitan Police, as well as the creation of 4 new CAI in strategic points.

Likewise, he made reference to the support that the Attorney General’s Office has provided to expedite the raids at points duly identified through the investigative intelligence work that the National Police has been carrying out in coordination with the National Army and the district administration.

The president reported that A fund of approximately 1,000 million pesos will be allocated to encourage uniformed officers to neutralize criminals. “We are going with forceful actions, because the bandit has no place in the city,” he said.
