The plenary session of the The House of Representatives approved this Wednesday, June 5, in the eighth and final debate, the constitutional reform that establishes allowance 14 in the Magna Carta. for veterans of the Military and Police Forces.

There were 101 positive votes and 0 negative votes for the three articles proposed by the initiative. Likewise, there were 99 votes for the title and the initiative question, and zero for the no.

The initiative, promoted by the government of President Gustavo Petro, will now be reconciled to unify the texts approved in the Senate and House of Representatives.

Will allowance 14 be for civilians?

The approved project does not establish that there is allowance 14 for civilians, although during the debates an attempt was made to expand it for civilians who have been part of the Public Force, as well as for teachers.

However, this It was not possible because the fiscal guarantee from the Ministry of Finance only applied to veterans of the Public Force.

In any case, several parliamentarians committed to working over the next few months so that allowance 14 applies to more pensioners.
