At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a guarantee control judge imposed a security measure in the prison establishment against Yeison Alexander López, allegedly involved in the kidnapping of a man dedicated to carrying out transport in Cúcuta.

The man was prosecuted for his alleged responsibility in simple kidnapping and qualified robbery, charges that he did not accept and was sent to jail.

The events occurred on January 23, 2023 in the Toledo neighborhood of the capital of Norte de Santander. According to the investigation, the victim was summoned to carry out a move, at which point he was allegedly approached by two men who intimidated him with firearms and got into a vehicle where they gagged him.

The men apparently identified themselves as members of the organized armed group Tren de Aragua and fled with the victim, who shortly after threw himself out of the vehicle in which he was being transported.

Due to these events, a local prosecutor from Cúcuta charged him with the crimes of simple kidnapping and qualified and aggravated robbery, charges that were not accepted.

The man was captured by uniformed members of the National Police on May 30 in the urban area of ​​Cúcuta, reported the Attorney General’s Office.
