Meanwhile, the producer of the La Marina district in Tuluá, Deysi Liliana Villas Granada, highlighted the benefits, “I am part of the country’s producing peasant families who dream of having a plan that is framed in agroecology, that contains all the values and all the characteristics that as people and as peasant women have characterized us over the years.”

The Departmental Agroecological Plan was built collectively with the active participation of the communities that live in the four subregions of Valle del Cauca and had the support of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization FAO, the European Union and the Italian Agency of Cooperation. “This Plan has been built for more than 30 years in a struggle of academics and peasants who have believed in this way of thinking as an expression to reclaim life,” concluded the deputy speaker Juan Carlos Rengifo.
