the Fourth World Circular Economy Summit was announced

With the Biodiversity Park as a setting and example of environmental policies, this Wednesday the mayor Daniel Passerini announced that this capital will host the Fourth World Circular Economy Summit.

Recently recognized at the regional level by the Organization of American States, the Municipality of Córdoba organizes this event, which It will take place at the Córdoba Fairgrounds on June 13, 14 and 15, with free participation.

As reported, this fourth edition will seek to show the integration of the Knowledge, Creative, Community and Circular economies in this new productive model, essential to combat Climate Change.

“This place, until a few years ago, was a place where animals suffered and we made the decision to transform it. And that is what the Circular Economy is about: transforming,” explained the mayor, referring to the conversion of the old zoo into the modern Biodiversity Park.

“Climate change is the consequence of the mistreatment of the environment, mainly in the last century. The Municipality of Córdoba decided to be part of the solution and we began to be a world reference in the Circular Economy,” Passerini highlighted.

Through multiple spaces, the Summit will seek to disseminate the central concepts and opportunities of this new paradigm based on the triple impact: social, economic and environmental. The international delegation brings together representatives from the continents of Africa, Asia, Europe and America.

Know to change

To stimulate thinking there will be conferences with international, national and local experts. One of those talks will be with the director of Sustainable Projects at Sitra, a Finnish investment fund that organizes the most important Circular Economy forums in the world.

Researchers from Vietnam, Germany, the African Circular Economy Network, a sustainable solutions group from Morocco and Canada, among others, will also participate.

Bring consumers closer

On the other hand, the Fair will be the place that connects consumers with circular organizations. There you can learn about products and services created under this new concept.

Another notable initiative will be the “Jaguar Connection” project, which works with peasant communities to preserve the forests of Latin America. Representatives of federations, alliances and networks of recyclers and the economy of the world will also arrive at the Summit, especially the International Alliance of Waste Collectors.

The Circular Experiences sector will bring together 99 exhibitors from all over the country to tell successful business models in the field.
