Governor Raúl Jalil, together with the Minister of Digital Inclusion and Productive Systems, Juan Cruz Miranda, met with representatives of the Pelama company, including the director Federico Leers. During the meeting, new investments were announced to promote the production of vicuña fiber.

Pelama is a company recognized worldwide for providing vicuña fiber to high-design homes in Europe, with operations in Peru, Bolivia and Argentina.

“The company representatives expressed their interest in moving forward with investments in conjunction with local communities to increase the production of vicuña fiber, promoting the creation of modules,” explained the Minister of Digital Inclusion and Productive Systems, Juan Cruz Miranda.

The plan includes the creation of modules, which are systems that facilitate the capture and shearing of vicuñas. These modules, already used in Jujuy and Catamarca, allow more efficient management of the vicuña during the chaku.

The vice governor Rubén Dusso participated in the meeting; the Minister of Economy, Alejandra Nazareno; the Minister of Labor, Planning and Human Resources, Verónica Soria; the Cabinet Secretary, Luz Soria, among other authorities.
