He Ministry of Education presented Teachers for Chilea web platform that centralizes job offers available for teachers in public educational establishments nationwide.
The initiative, which is part of the National Teaching Plan, aims to support establishments in the hiring process; offer possibilities for them to find replacementsif required, and allow teachers to find job offers.
Teachers for Chile has detailed information about job offers, educational projects, benefits, complementary assignments and characteristics of the establishment. In addition, it allows for more transparency, along with democratizing access to information.
The platform, developed in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and run by the Millennium Institute of Complex Engineering Systems (ISCI) of the University of Chile, will begin in a pilot phase with six supporters that bring together 12 communes of the country, with a total universe of 6 thousand teachers, 5 thousand of them in the classroom, covering an enrollment of more than 74 thousand students.
The supporters participating in this pilot phase are the municipalities of Santiago, Central Station, La Calera and Pozo Almonteand the Local Education Services of Canyons (which includes the communes of Pudahuel, Lo Prado and Cerro Navia) and of Araucania Coast (made up of the communes of Carahue, Nueva Imperial, Saavedra, Teodoro Schmidt and Toltén).
This process prior to the launch throughout the country, which will be completed by the 2025 academic year, involves 208 educational establishments with a combined enrollment of 74,398 students and a staff of 6,302 teachers.
