Mendoza Waters warned this Thursday that there have been attempted scams through WhatsApp, where an apocryphal account offers retirees and pensioners subsidies on the water rate and requests personal information from users.
According to information from the company, the scammers communicate offering subsidies with a 50% discount and to do so they request personal data and documentation from the retirees.
“Aguas Mendocinas NEVER contacts users to offer a service or carry out a procedure. The procedure for the Retiree Subsidy can only be requested by the user, digitally through the virtual assistant or in person at our Commercial Offices.they explained through a statement.
The scammers used an apocryphal account with the image of Aguas Mendocinas, and placed a false email, as well as a non-existent website, in order to give “credibility” to the deception.
The company assured that users must be on alert and announced which are the official sites to carry out any type of procedure. The virtual assistant via WhatsApp is 2612162482, while to make telephone inquiries you must contact 08004449900
