Once again, the discipline of basketball gives first place or the gold medal to the University of Magdalena, in the Regional Games organized by the Colombian Association of Universities ASCUN.
The men’s team was placed in group B, beginning its participation against the Universidad Popular del Cesar, whom it defeated by a score of 61 X 20. In its second outing, it defeated the University of Córdoba 65 to the Universidad del Norte 58 X 43.
In the quarterfinals they once again faced the Universidad del Norte whom they dominated and beat them 72 X 37. In the semifinal they demonstrated their power in this discipline and managed to leave the Latin American University Corporation on the road 63
In a vibrant final against the Simón Bolívar University, once again the team of this Alma Mater demonstrated why it is the national runner-up and current regional champion, achieving the three-time championship by winning 74 X 66.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL 3X3 CHAMPION
For its part, the women’s team in the 3X3 modality also won the gold medal in these sporting events.
The University of Magdalena began the road to the title by placing itself in group A. On the first date it defeated its counterpart from the Universidad del Sinú by a score of 11 X 1. On the second date it defeated the UCC headquarters Montería 13 X 5.
