In an operation, the Police of the municipality of Yacuanquer managed to capture an individual accused of committing theft of vehicle accessories in broad daylight and attacking a police officer with a knife.
The incident occurred near the park. Pedro Leon Torres during market day. The subject took advantage of the crowd to steal the mirrors of a parked vehicle.
However, his attempt to escape was frustrated thanks to the quick reaction of the witnesses, who gave clues to the uniformed officers about the direction the criminal had taken.
The alleged thief, upon finding himself cornered by the Police a few blocks from the place of the theft, He threw the mirrors and pulled out a knife, with which he attacked one of the agents.
Fortunately, the police officer was wearing his ballistic vest, which prevented him from being injured in the attack.
After a brief but tense confrontation, the personnel of the Yacuanquer Police Station managed to disarm the aggressor and proceed with his arrest. The subject was presented before the judicial authorities, where he will face charges for the crimes of theft and violence against a public servant.
