The provincial government and the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the National University of Entre Ríos (UNER) are working to create a labor market observatory.

This space will aim to generate reports on the employment situation and a training plan for state workers. Within this framework, the Ministry of Government and Labor signed an agreement to join the University Center for Government Management.

Framed within the Interdisciplinary Center for Economic Sciences Studies of the UNER, the observatory will seek to offer a detailed x-ray of the employment situation, covering aspects such as the unemployment rate, labor participation and the quality of employment, among other items.

Its main function will be to collect, process and analyze relevant information about the labor market, thus allowing for more informed and effective public policy formulation.

Collaboration agreement

The head of Government and Labor, Manuel Troncoso, stated that this agreement “is very important to advance what every government needs to plan public policies: the generation of data.”

“As a government, we want to precisely identify the strengths of the labor market in Entre Ríos and what needs to be done or improved. Data guides and supports decisions and tells us whether we are on the right track or not. And in this it is key to work together with universities, since they make an invaluable contribution with their professionals and knowledge,” he added.

For his part, the dean of the Faculty, Sebastián Pérez, expressed that “we are always willing to collaborate with the technical teams through extension and research.”

“This agreement with the Ministry of Government proves the importance of the synergy that can be achieved between the university and the government. We are very excited to start working with the Secretary of Labor,” he said.

Specific training

In addition to the observatory, the authorities mentioned that the agreement will allow progress together with the University Center for Government Management (CUGG), made up of the faculties of Economic Sciences of the UNER and of Management Sciences of the Autonomous University of Entre Ríos (UADER), in the implementation of specific training for public administration workers, contributing to their ongoing training and thus strengthening state functioning in the province.
