The Minister of Education of the Province of Buenos Aires, Alberto Sileonitoannounced this Thursday changes in the Buenos Aires secondary school, among which stand out updates, new curricular designs and a new Academic Regime (AR), among other items.

From the administration of Axel Kicillofreported the decision to update the RA arises “in response to the demand for the need to transform secondary school.”

In this regard, they added that they took into account the proposals made by teachers, students, and school directors. They also considered that they will recover the good experiences already implemented.

The modifications were presented by Sileoni himself during a press conference in the Albergucci room, located at the headquarters of the General Directorate of Culture and Education, in La Plata.

One by one, what do the changes consist of?

Basics

  • Allows schools to organize teaching according to their institutional reality
  • More support for students. With more school and teaching time.
  • With the formation of the Educational Trajectories Definition Team (EDTE).
  • With the new Secondary Level Student Digital Notebook.
  • Accompanies the beginning of the 1st year in the construction of the Secondary Level student profession
  • Training proposals aimed at 6th year students for articulation with the Higher Level and the construction of vocations.
  • School Coexistence Days and Institutional Coexistence Agreements.

New form of accreditation to value effort and achieve more learning.

  • Accreditation by subject. Grading is per semester and students pass with a score of 7 or more.
  • Approved subjects are not reconsidered.
  • Subjects pending approval are taught and studied more because they are intensified or repeated until students acquire the knowledge.
  • No one studies alone: ​​4 more periods of intensification and deepening of teaching and study are established (periods of 15 days at the beginning and end of each semester, December and February).
  • Up to 4 subjects in total can be intensified pending approval from previous school cycles. From the 5th. pending matter, it will be defined which are the 4 subjects that are intensified and which one(s) is/are appealed.

The new forms of qualification, evaluation and accreditation of subjects will be applied in March 2025. From now on, schools will be supported for the correct implementation of the RA.

From the Province of Buenos Aires they clarified that the combo will include “more investment from the provincial State in teaching positions and modules to support learning.”
