“We are alone, but we will continue working for our communities“, that is what social and community leaders say who are constantly the target of threats in this region of the country. In the last days, Raúl Arévalo, leader of Colinas del Tunal, received another threat. He assured that the authorities pay attention to him for a couple of hours, but then they forget about the imminent danger that these people face in his territories.

“These threats are constant, they have done it in every possible way, But we still haven’t learned to live with this,” said Arévalo.

Despite this, he indicated that his passion for social work would not cease. “We continue working and we are going to continue working, because the objective of this is to improve the sectors and improve the quality of life of people“We are trying to give equality to these sectors that the state has abandoned.”
