The seven bus lines belonging to the company ERSA, who had initiated a forceful measure to demand wages this Friday, resumed service. The decision was made after the recent payment of wages of the drivers.
The measure affected public transport users in the City of Buenos Aires (CABA) and part of the Buenos Aires suburbs from 00:00, since the lines included were the 19, 133, 140, 153, 184, 253 and 321. According to the statement, the strike began due to late payment of salaries, For this reason, it was reported that the retention of tasks would continue until the corresponding salaries were deposited.
“It has been two months since we have been paid on the fourth business day, as appropriate, for which we took a measure with our colleagues to stop, since we still do not have any news about the jurisdiction. We had to collect yesterday, the fourth business day. The company does not give us positive news. Until they pay us our salary, unfortunately we are not going to go out to work“, explained this morning Hernán Cabañez, delegate of the employees of line 133, in dialogue with TV Chronicle.
The route of this last line includes several hospitals in the south of CABA, which generated complications in reaching that area. Notably The conflict was not due to the amount of salary, but rather to payment on time.
The delegate added: “We are waiting for the company to call us so that they can set our salary accordingly, and we have no problem in lifting the force measure. It is not the first time, last month we charged one more day. “We tried not to have any problems, so we held on for another day, but this is unsustainable.”
