During a routine check, the Chubut Police stopped a truck that was trying to enter the province with more than 100 drums of undeclared explosive and toxic liquid.
It was around 10 p.m. this Thursday, at kilometer 1307 of National Route No. 3, when the Arroyo Verde police personnel were carrying out the operation and requested that the tractor-type truck with semi-trailer stop moving. He came from Bahía Blanca and was heading to Comodoro Rivadavia.
When reviewing the shipments, they noticed that there were irregularities in the declaration of the cargo he was transporting, since a discrepancy was evident between what he said he was carrying and the amount he actually had in his truck.
In detail, the search showed that the occupants were carrying a number of drums and drums with corrosive and toxic liquid that exceeded 100 units, when a significantly lower quantity had been specified in the aforementioned document.
At the same time, the cargo was all mixed and poorly stored, without ventilation, which posed a risk to road, personal and environmental safety as it was a toxic and flammable corrosive liquid.
In addition to this, the police confirmed that one of the drivers did not have authorization from the transportation company to which the unit belonged.
The truck was taken to the Arroyo Verde subpolice station yard and both drivers were charged with the crime against common security.
