The Government of Córdoba, organizer of the first edition of the Córdoba Danza y Baila su Tradiciones Bonche de Oro Awards Festival, confirmed that the renowned singer, composer and music producer from Cartagena Juan Carlos Coronel is a member of the jury for this event.

The cultural and artistic show, which is free, takes place within the framework of the National Livestock Fair, which in this edition pays tribute to the late primitivist painter Marcial Alegría.

In addition to Coronel, who has been a judge on the X Factor program and winner of the Latin Grammy Award for best Cumbia/Vallenato album in 2011, they will also be judges of the more than 60 groups registered in the children’s and youth categories – adults in the areas of dance and music, Francisco Zumaqué, one of Cereté’s most beloved sons, outstanding composer, arranger, producer and orchestra director of Ritmo Caribeño.

Zumaqué is one of the 100 great characters of the 20th century in Colombia and composer of ‘Colombia Caribe’, the signature song of the Colombian soccer team. He has worked with artists of great international renown.

The trifecta of jurors is completed by Yeison Landero, ‘The heir to cumbia’. Singer-songwriter and accordion player, grandson of the renowned cumbia minstrel, Andrés Landero. Nominated for the Latin Grammy in 2020 in the Cumbia / Vallenato category for his collaboration on the song ‘Llora cried mi accordion’.

In the dance competitions, the evaluating jury will be in charge of Valeria Abuchaibe Rosales, queen number 100 of the Barranquilla Carnival in 2018. Dancer, digital content creator and CEO of Fundación CreArte; Edelmira Massa Zapata, knowledgeable about the artistic traditions of Córdoba and the Caribbean, teacher in Fine Arts from the National University of Colombia and Teacher in Dance with emphasis on community processes.

Zapata is also a researcher and professor of Fine Arts at the National University of Colombia, daughter of Delia Zapata Olivella and niece of the writer Manuel Zapata Olivella, and Rosana Lignarolo, dancer and choreographer, was prima ballerina of the Royal Atlantic Ballet at the age of 15, creator of the Contemporary Ballet of Barranquilla and the Pasión Foundation. She is currently one of the most important voices in dance in the Caribbean Region.
