Son of a humble family, with father Osvaldo working for Molinos Fénix – “he went through the towns in a flat pulled by four horses distributing flour,” he says -, and mother Ángela, born in General Acha; José had eight brothers, he published – years ago – the newspaper La Arena.

«When I was a boy we lived on 27th Street, one block from the small Costa Brava court. I went to School 66 and I was a good student, but I only started my first year of high school and I dropped out,” he recalled in the interview.

He was a player and fan of Costa Brava, although he became a reference in the best football history of Ferro Carril Oeste de General Pico, when he arrived at Nacional and faced Boca Juniors, Talleres and Newell’s.

COACH

He debuted at the age of 13 in the Costa Brava first team in a match in Quemú Quemú. He admits that he was a morph.

At the age of 11 he started working to help his parents. He started training the Costa Brava boys, and they took him to Sportivo Independiente, but he didn’t have to play. At 25 he hung up his boots, and left the Los Americanos orchestra where he played guitar and bass. When he quit, he took a bongo with him.

TITLES

He directed the youth teams in Costa Brava and Sportivo Independiente; Afterwards he returned to the Eastern District, walked through Cochicó de Victorica and arrived at Ferro de Intendente Alvear; and from 1980 to 1987 he was in Ferro de General Pico and won everything he played and reached the Nacional; In 1990 he joined All Boys of Santa Rosa.

He added titles with Estudiantentil de Castex, again with Ferro de Pico in 2005, in 2006 he was promoted to All Boys de Trenel, he was promoted to Costa Brava in 2010; and he returned to direct the Trenelense team in 2014.

He won a dozen league championships, and the Provincial championship no less than four times: with Ferro de Pico, with Costa Brava he was a two-time champion, and also with Estudiantentil. And his influence has been so great that in the Provincial three of those titles were consecutive: 1999 and 2000 with Costa and in 2001 with Estudiantentil.
