Around 9 p.m. this Friday, June 7, a couple residing in Villa Media Agua, in Sarmiento, was surprised by five hooded individuals, who were armed and entered the home with the intention of committing a robbery. They beat the homeowner and fled. The San Juan Police and Prosecutor’s Office intervened in the incident to find the perpetrators.
The criminals arrived at the Ibaceta family’s house, located near 25 de Mayo Avenue, in front of the Sarmiento Rural Equestrian Club, and beat the owner of the house, from whom they demanded the money he had saved, the amount of which so far It is not known why after the thieves escaped, the victim had to be transferred to the Doctor Guillermo Rawson Hospital where he was admitted.

The owner of the home suffered blows to the head with the firearms that the criminals had, which would have caused cuts and bruises, for which he was urgently transferred to the central hospital in the capital of San Juan. From the home, the thieves stole a large amount of items such as computers, cell phones, electronic devices and apparently a large sum of money, the amount of which would only be known to the owner of the house.

When fleeing the scene, the five assailants also stole the Fiat Uno that belongs to the couple. This vehicle was later found, abandoned in an area of Pocito, on 11th Street. Police personnel from the 7th Police Station stayed to guard it until Criminalistics personnel arrived to carry out the corresponding investigations.
Criminalistics will carry out the investigations to find traces of the assailants.
The UFI Special Crimes, with assistant prosecutor Marcelo Bustos, went to the scene of the assault and gave instructions to carry out an intense operation with searches to try to find the criminals. In addition, both personnel from the 8th and 7th Police Stations in Pocito are working under the orders of the prosecutor’s office to clarify the incident.
