During the indictment hearing of Iván José de la Rosa this June 7, Judge 11 of Bogotá’s Guarantee Control had to ask the alleged feminicide not to laugh while the prosecutor spoke.

(In context: Prison for Iván José de la Rosa, alleged feminicide of Stefanny Barranco in the Santafé shopping center).

The judge caught the defendant’s attention, since while the prosecutor intervened he laughed: “Sir, be kind and save your laughter for another occasion, I believe that what the prosecutor is saying is not for you to laugh at. Please respect!” said the judge.

Given this, de la Rosa argued that he was laughing because what the prosecutor said “was a lie.”

However, the judge continued saying: “Do me a favor and respect, we are in a hearing and here is not something for you to laugh (…) So, please respect the hearing.” After a short silence, the prosecutor in charge of the case continued speaking.

The alleged feminicide was charged and sent to prison

Furthermore, during the hearing this Friday Iván José de la Rosa was sent to a prison while the case of the feminicide of his ex-partner Stefanny Barranco progresseswhom he stabbed about 18 in a commercial establishment located in the Santafé shopping center on May 29 and then self-harmed.

(Of your interest: This was Stefanny Barranco’s months of torture with the feminicide Iván José de la Rosa, who murdered her in CC Santafé in Bogotá).

“The subjective requirements are met to impose a security measure that is reasonable because there is some evidence from which it is inferred that Iván José de la Rosa Gómez is the alleged perpetrator of the crime of aggravated feminicide,” the judge indicated when giving the security measure for the alleged feminicide.

At the charging hearing, the prosecutor in charge of the case pointed out that the subject “was increasingly aggressive” with the victim and she “had no one to defend her.”
