The Bolivian soccer team, technically directed by Antonio Carlos Zago, held its last open-door training session at the Ramón Tahuichi Aguilera stadium, located in the city of Santa Cruz, before embarking on a trip to the United States. In this country, La Verde will play two friendly matches in advance of the Copa América.

The training took place in front of a large crowd that gathered at the main sports venue in the capital of Santa Cruz. More than four thousand Green fans were stationed in the Preference sector to cheer on the players.

“We want the Bolivian fans to identify with their team, we know that they are used to defeats, it is difficult to change that image they have of the team, but we are working for that. It is important to feel this support,” said coach Zago before training.

“It’s good to feel this encouragement, it motivates us to keep going. This is the most beautiful thing about this profession. We are going to leave everything on the field, we do not want to disappoint the fans,” added goalkeeper Guillermo Viscarra, one of the players most in demand by the fans.

This Sunday, at night, the Green will leave for the North American country. It will first land in Pennsylvania, home of this Wednesday’s friendly match against Ecuador, starting at 8:30 p.m. at the Subaru Park stadium. Subsequently, the delegation will travel to Connecticut to face Colombia on Saturday, June 15, starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Rentschler Field stadium.

Once the match against the coffee team ends, the national team will travel to Arlington, Texas, where it will wait for its debut in the 2024 Copa América against the United States, scheduled for Sunday the 23rd of the same month at the AT&T Stadium (18: 00 HB).
