The PP wins the European elections in La Rioja with 44.70% and leads the PSOE by 12 points

Logroño, (EFE).- The PP won the European elections this Sunday in La Rioja by achieving 44.70% of the votes with 99.54 counted, which is 13.61 points more than those held in 2019; and leads the PSOE by 12.14 points, since it has obtained 32.56% of votes, 4.80 points less than five years ago.

The Rioja PP has obtained, with this percentage counted, 54,818 votes and the PSOE, which won the elections in La Rioja in 2019, 39,928, according to data published by the Ministry of the Interior.

Furthermore, the PP has been the party with the most votes in all the regional capitals of the region.
Vox has added 3.58 points compared to 2019, having obtained 10,798 votes this Sunday, 8.80%; while the Voters’ Group ‘The party is over’ was in fourth place, with 4,408 votes, 3.66%.

Sumar has counted 3,986 votes, 3.25%; Podemos, 2,852, 2.32%, which represents a loss of 6.08 points compared to 2019; and Ciudadanos, 765, 0.62% and 12.63 points less than five years ago.

Participation in La Rioja has reached 52.51%, 12.11 points less than that recorded in the last European elections.

With these results, La Rioja will have two MEPs: the popular Esther Herraz, who was already part of the European Parliament between 2002 and 2019; and the socialist César Luena, who has already been a socialist in the last legislature.

In the European elections five years ago, the PSOE won in La Rioja with 37.36% of the votes cast; followed by the PP, with 31.09%; Citizens, with 13.25; Podemos-IU, with e 8.40%; and Vox, with 5.22%.
