Cortés Artunduaga was found responsible for the crime of the communal leader Yony Alejandro Chala Hueje, perpetrated on June 27, 2021 in the Comuneros village. Likewise, he participated in the murder of the treasurer of the Community Action Board of the Reina Baja village, which occurred in the Reina Baja village, on January 21, 2023.

Cortés Artunduaga was sentenced for the crimes of homicide; manufacture, trafficking and carrying of firearms or ammunition; and conspiracy to commit a crime. Both behaviors aggravated.
