Sports meetings and training in different disciplines could materialize between both cities.

Thanks to the efforts of the regional governor Andrea Macías, the director of Sernatur Claudio Montecinos, the sports minister María Eugenia Durán and mayor Julio Uribe, a meeting between representatives of various sports entities of Comodoro Rivadavia took place at the April 21 Sports Center. (Argentina) and leaders of Puerto Aysén.

The meeting aimed at the idea of initiating joint work that seeks to promote various sports disciplines from training to competitive categories.

The Seremi of Sports María Eugenia Durán stated that they generated an agenda with the main sports actors in the region in the communes of Coyhaique and Aysén.

“We met with the administration of the Sports Center with the Municipal Sports Corporation, who received us and were able to give us a tour of the facility. Sports organizations were also integrated, where there were disciplines that this Comodoro delegation was interested in for exchange, such as basketball, volleyball, rugby and hockey,” said the Seremi del Deporte.

Mayor Julio Uribe said that the collaborative work between Comodoro and the communal territory is a possibility to promote disciplines that have been growing and increasingly interesting children, young people and adults.

“The idea is to strengthen the existing relationship between both countries, whether in tourism or sports, so they were very good meetings and we are going to continue strengthening these ties, to achieve the exchange of sports disciplines,” Uribe indicated.

Marcos Davies from the “Comodoro Deportes” organization reaffirmed that the main objective of the meeting was to establish coordination that allows leaders and athletes from Aysen to learn about the Argentine reality, exchange knowledge and generate skills.

“The idea is to make alliances, start talking, have links, so that between the two parties, both Chile and Argentina, we can carry out different sporting events. It should be noted that people from rugby, hockey, athletics, basketball and volleyball came to this sporting mission,” Davies said.

“Meetings have been held so that in the future, for example, the Comodoro Rivadavia volleyball or basketball team that represents the national league, can come here, not only to play friendly matches with the local teams, but, to have training, because these teams that are in high competition can transmit their knowledge to local players,” added the Argentine leader.

For the leader and monitor of the “Manada” Rugby club of Aysén, Nicolás Ibacache, these types of meetings are valued for the results and support they can bring to sport in the region.

“These ties, this information are very important and seeing that all sports in the commune and in the region are being strengthened, that is the main thing.”
