Aysén.- Through the operational deployment of 110 police officers, the Institution guaranteed security and prevention in the outer perimeter of the 34 voting locations, during the primary elections in the Aysén region, a day that culminated with three people arrested linked to this process.
“We didn’t have any major problems, we had three detainees and one person reported. Three complaints were made for the sale of alcohol, remember that yesterday there was a dry law. Regarding the three people arrested, two are for having refused to be table members and a third person who is carrying out the work of a table member – linked to a previous crime of a traffic accident (overturn) under the influence of alcohol – The respiratory test was done and it showed 0.74 grams of alcohol per liter of blood, that person was detained and measures were taken by the voting station delegate regarding his replacement and the respective complaint,” explained the Zone Chief. of Carabineros Aysén, General Patricio Santos Poblete.
Likewise, the General Officer indicated that at the Pedro Quintana Mansilla School “one of the table members went out to get some air and did not return, that person was also reported,” he added.
Regarding the above, the Aysén Zone Chief stated that situations like these occur due to those variables that -Carabineros as part of the social structures- do not control, which is, the behavior of people.
“In general terms, the behavior was ideal, we had exemplary behavior both in our regional capital and also in the cities, with few flows that we evaluated aerially with the media, but it was a day without major problems in terms of the police,” projection.
Likewise, during the primary day, Carabineros played a facilitating role, especially focused on older adults and senior citizens, providing support and assistance in their travel, allowing expeditious access to the voting locations.
