Cienfuegos, Cuba. – Young researchers from the Cienfuegos Environmental Studies Center (CEAC) participated together with students from the Mártires de Girón Basic Secondary School in the VII Edition of the Costa Joven event, which took place in areas of the Jagua Camping Base.
The Coastal Marine Stressors Theme motivated the Scientific Educational Conference through the conferences “Coral reefs and sea stars, Mangroves, Microplastics, Ocean Acidification and Red Crabs”, among others.
Yaileny Labrada Pérez obtained first place in the drawing modality, as part of the contest organized by the event, which included Photography and Use of Recyclable Materials, reported Maikel Hernández, Communicator of the Center for Environmental Studies.
Costa Joven promoted the care, rational use of coastal resources and the protection of the environment, as part of the 25th Anniversary of the founding of the CEAC, an institution that contributes to the study of processes and the evaluation and solution of environmental conflicts, with high professional preparation.
Recently, the CEAC received the Collaborating Center Badge of the International Atomic Energy Agency for the Application of Nuclear and Isotopic Techniques in the Study of Coastal Marine Ecosystems in the Latin American and Caribbean Region.
