Córdoba City Council Announces the Third Izote Flower Festival

H. Córdoba, Ver. June 10, 2024.- On July 6 and 7, the Third Izote Flower Festival organized by the Córdoba City Council will be held at the Ex Hacienda Toxpan; “It is a citizen festival of a Magical Town that includes all sectors,” said Daniel Hernández del Ángel, director of Social Development on behalf of the mayor, Juan Martínez Flores, at a press conference.

“It is integrating different sectors and today a very special one is added apart from all the folklore and musical activities, the dish contest; Now municipal agents are going to participate because on Sunday there will be a traditional tesmole of izote flower with backbone to share with everyone who attends, it is a festival of the Magical Town of Córdoba.”

Vania López González, head of the City Council’s Office, pointed out that this festival is an opportunity for local and regional tourism given the sports, cultural, and gastronomic activities and it is worth recognizing the participation of citizens and private initiative, which in the editions Previous visitors have enjoyed the festival that promotes Cordoba gastronomy.

The Izote Flower Festival is run by the Economic Development Directorate of the Córdoba City Council headed by Adrián Fuentes Talavera; Within the program, it is planned for Saturday, July 6 at 7 in the morning to begin with a cycling ride, Zumba classes, a children’s ceramics workshop, face painting, and the inauguration is scheduled for ten thirty in the morning.

At noon there will be a discussion with specialists from the Postgraduate College who will talk about the Flor de Izote; Later there will be marching band, danzón and rock band exhibitions.

On Sunday the 7th, a foot race will begin at 7 in the morning and at exactly 9 in the morning, the gastronomic contest will begin, where the participation of more than 50 dishes prepared with the Flor de Izote is expected.
