Health waiting lists in Córdoba continue to increase despite SAS cut plans

The objective of these measures, included in the Santiaria Guarantee Planis the reduction at the end of the year of 60% of the number of patients waiting for surgery outside the deadlines established in the guarantee decree, and 18% of those who are going to be operated on, and all of this through a reorganization of ordinary activity.

However, the data of Cordova they continue to increase. At the end of last December there were 40,601 patients waiting in Outpatient Clinics within the established legal deadlines. To them were added 7,530 outside that period (more than two months of waiting). The average delay time was 57 days.

Yesterday’s data given by the SAS speaks of 5,891 more patients waiting for a specialist appointment within the guaranteed period but 2,106 more also outside the legal period. That is, the waiting list in the province of Córdoba for Outpatient Consultations grows by 7,997 more patients, although this average waiting period has been reduced by five days (from 57 to 52 days).

As for the surgical waiting liststhe situation is similar in Cordova, although not with the growth volume of specialist appointments. In the province of Córdoba, at the end of 2023, there were 11,250 patients waiting for an intervention within the guaranteed period and 1,782 outside it, with an average delay of 86 days.

As of June 10, 2024 there are 258 more patients in the bulk of the surgical wait within the times guaranteed by decree and 20 more outside these deadlines (60 days). This is 278 more people than what the system was carrying as of December 29.
