After the airline Clic Air suspended the Manizales – Medellín – Manizales routeTwo weeks ago, a meeting was held between the directors of said company, Inficaldas and Caldensian unions, with the aim of resuming the aforementioned frequency. According to Felipe Gutiérrez, manager of Clic, This decision was made due to the decrease in the sale of air tickets, since between June of this year and January 2025, 41 tickets had been reserved.
However, Gutiérrez clarified that this not only happens here in Manizales, but in other airports in the Coffee Region. And in the country, something similar happens. Amparo Sánchez Londoño, manager of Inficaldas, pointed out that the objective of the meeting was to review the issue, look at the reasons for the decision made by Clic, the prospecting and the perspective we have from now on with that route.

“We drew up a roadmap to work in an articulated manner with the sole purpose of trying to recover that route and that frequency. This will not be immediate, but we will surely achieve important things to recover and improve connectivity to and from Manizales and Caldas“, highlighted the official.
What were the conclusions of the meeting?
Some of the conclusions and proposals to obtain passengers who travel between the capitals of Caldas and Antioquia are:
- The purchase of a certain number of seats by public and private entities, with the contribution of the airline, without generating losses.
- Expose the potential of Caldas and Manizales, which could generate new routes to other destinations in Colombia.
- The Manizales Chamber of Commerce will provide data on commercial relations with the region that will allow identifying possible markets for new frequencies.
