This week, Seven raids were carried out in the capital of Córdoba and in Río Ceballos, in a case that investigated a WhatsApp group where sexual photos of minors were distributed. In the file, initially led by prosecutor Juan Ávila Echenique, from the Prosecutor’s Office for Crimes against Sexual Integrity, it was discovered that the creator of the distribution channel is a 13 year old girl. The channel was also managed by five other boys of the same age.

As reported this Tuesday by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Córdoba, the investigation determined that there are no adults involved.

Because the six involved in the crime against sexual integrity are minors, The Prosecutor’s Office transferred the case to the Juvenile Criminal Jurisdiction of the provincial Justice. Due to their ages, from now on, they are unimpeachable.

From the provincial MPF they indicated that the case was reported by a mother who went to the prosecutor’s office when verifying that the content spread spread to different areas of the city and, fundamentally, had reached the eyes of students from educational establishments.

According to the evidence collected, The goal of the minors involved was to reach 1,500 followers in the group. The possibility that there are adult pedophiles in the group downloading this content – a crime – is notable.

On May 7, a series of raids were carried out in Argentina and other countries within the framework of the third international operation “Allies for Children”, which aimed to disrupt networks of transmission and production of child sexual abuse material that operate worldwide. As a result, 15 suspects were arrested.

The 33 procedures were promoted by the authorities of the United States Embassy in Argentina, the US Department of Homeland Security of the United States and the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the City of Buenos Aires. Both institutions cooperate mutually to combat the sexual exploitation of minors through the use of the American investigation system “Internet Crimes Against Children Child On-line Protection System (ICACCOPS)” and “Child Protection System (CPS)”.

In the searches, 176 items related to sexual abuse of minors were seized.

The raids were carried out simultaneously in 12 provinces of the country (Buenos Aires, Chubut, Córdoba, Corrientes, Entre Ríos, Formosa, Jujuy, Río Negro, Salta, Santa Fe, Tierra del Fuego and Tucumán, in addition to CABA) and also in Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Paraguay, Panama, Puerto Rico, Germany, Costa Rica and Peru.

So, 15 people were arrested, 9 of them in Argentina -4 in CABA, 3 in Santa Fe, 1 in the province of Buenos Aires and 1 in Salta-. Four other suspects were also arrested in Ecuador, one in Puerto Rico and the remaining one in Costa Rica.

In the searches, 176 items related to content of sexual abuse of minors were seized. Sources of the case informed Infobae that one of the detainees He wanted to get rid of a record when the police entered his home and threw it with the intention of destroying it, but finally the object was recovered and will be assessed.
