The National Institute for Food and Drug Surveillance -Invima, through the Immediate Reaction Unit Group (GURI), in joint work with government entities and the National Police, carried out operations during the month of May to seize medications, materials and products. meat in the departments of Boyacá and Cundinamarca.
Within the framework of the frontal fight against the scourge of illegality and smuggling, the actions of the health authority and the Police managed to contain the health risk generated by the distribution and marketing of high-cost medication-type products and fraudulent meat products. not suitable for human consumptionbecoming a risk to the health of the population.
The Inspection, Surveillance and Control – IVC procedures in Search and Search operations were carried out at six points in various neighborhoods of Bogotá, in the town of Bosa, in Soacha (Cundinamarca) and in the municipalities of Sáchica and Cómbita (Boyacá).
Thanks to the coordinated work with the district and police entities, it was possible to contain the health risk generated by the distribution and marketing of the seized products.
The operations involved: the Mayor’s Office of Bogotá, the Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Interpol, the Attorney General’s Office (FGN), the Local Mayor’s Office of Bosa, the Group of Carabineros and Canine Guides of the Police of Bogotá and Boyacá.
