For his part, Basilio Vicens, that at the time of the signing of the agreement for $1,692 million, he served as Secretary of Culture and Tourisma position in which I was in charge for 6 days, the control entity sanctioned him with dismissal and disqualification of 10 years when he found him responsible for very serious misconduct.
Now after several years, The Attorney General’s Office has voided any legal weight of the decision taken in the first instance and has revoked the measures adopted because those disciplined managed to demonstrate that the Colombian folk festival corporation did have the suitability to develop the questioned agreement.
Caracol Radio spoke with Basilio Vicens, who served as Secretary of Culture and Tourism for only 6 years and was involved in this disciplinary process.
After 8 years, Vicens assures that he carried a cross that affected him at work and professionallya cross that means the weight of the decision that the Attorney General’s Office made against him in the first instance.
“I had supposedly exceeded my duties, Furthermore, according to the entity, the corporation did not have the capacity to do so.“Now the ruling is revoked and it is determined whether suitability existed,” he said.
Besides, The former official confirmed that his signature was forged in the middle of the contractual process, Therefore, it was determined that he did not exceed his duties. “We executed things as they should be done, 8 lawyers participated in the process and the corporation’s experience was recognized.”
