Guaraní Antonio Franco turns 92: from Villa Sarita to raising the flag of Misiones high

The popular Posadas club celebrates another year of its creation. He knew how to be in the highest echelon of national football. Today, with a sporting moment different from that one, its fans remember this date with hope for a better future.

He June 12, 1932, a group of young people from the Posada neighborhood of Villa Sarita, after the disappearance of the Club Sportivo Colomboat the suggestion of Antonio Franco, a Public Health nurse, met at his warehouse located on Ivanowski and Ayacucho (the latter street is currently called Ángel Acuña). On that occasion, they decided to found a club.

At the suggestion of Pablo Osvaldo Ruiz, director of Public Assistance, where Antonio Franco worked, the name of Guarani, in tribute to the indigenous people of Misiones. Debut in local tournaments

Guaraní Antonio Franco participated in numerous regional tournaments and rose to the national championships in 1971, 1981, 1982 and 1985.
