Showing great strength and a remarkable reaction in the final to defeat Franjeados 4 to 3, Amotinados won the “Northern Gold Cup” of futsal in the contest that took place last weekend in the capital of Formosa, organized by the Argentine Indoor Football Confederation.
Once again Sáenz Peña has managed to install CAFS futsal in a privileged place, after the consecrating performance of Amotinados. The contest was held at the “Walter Woods” stadiums of the San Martín club and at the “Cincuentenario” Sports Center in Formosa.
24 teams participated, of which 8 were from the capital of the host province, which were distributed into 6 groups of 4 each. The “Termal” team was part of Zone D and finished in second place, behind Godoy Cruz de Mendoza, and ahead of Provincial de Rosario and SanAgus.
The final had not started well for Amotinados but they recovered and reached a 3-3 draw against Franjeados, to move the definition to overtime. There José Sáez closed a notable afternoon by converting the score 4 to 3, third on his personal score, to seal the victory and the title, while the remaining goal was from Fernando Marinich.
The tournament is the second in importance at the club level of the Argentine Indoor Soccer Confederation, after the Honor Division that was held at the same time in Posadas, Misiones. The local organization was in charge of the Fu.Sa.For entity. (Formosa Indoor Soccer).
On their way to the champion title, Amotinados defeated Juventud de Formosa 6 to 4 in the round of 16 in a match that was interrupted with just over 2 minutes left due to an attack on a player from the Saenzpeñense team; and in the quarterfinals they won over Godoy Cruz de Mendoza 7 to 6 on penalties, after equaling 2 to 2.
Already in the semifinal stage, they defeated the Sector R cast 4 to 3, also from the province that hosted the contest; and in the other key Franjeados, who represented the local San Martín, eliminated Mariano Moreno from Paraná by defeating him 4 to 3.
