At least a dozen real estate scams are being investigated by the provincial justice system, which this Monday ordered the search of two homes in the city of Santa Fe, in one of which someone who presents himself as the visible face of the Moderno House construction company was arrested.
“Do not wait more! You take the first step, we do the rest!” the commercial firm promises in one of its latest publications on the social network Facebook. “Invest your savings and beat inflation”; “We accept your used”; and “Today is the day for you to fulfill the dream of your own home!” are some of the slogans that the firm used to attract clients.
The raided sites were a private upper-floor apartment, on the corner of Salvador del Carril and Alvear, a few meters from the 5th Police Station. from the Sergeant Cabral neighborhood; and the commercial offices of Moderno House, on the corner of Avenida Facundo Zuviría and Calle Castelli, in front of the Don Bosco educational complex.
Computers and phones
In the first of the addresses, members of the Complex Crimes Area of the Investigative Police (PDI), arrested Néstor S., 37, whom the victims point out as the main person responsible for an alleged illicit maneuver.
The suspect was arrested at his partner’s home, where two imported vehicles were also seized, a Mercedes Benz car and a Jeep truck, one of which was in his name.
In parallel, the police broke into the commercial premises of Facundo Zuviría 6699, where they were looking for documentation of interest for the criminal case filed in the Special Complex Crimes Unit of the Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPA), headed by prosecutor Federico Grimberg.
As a result of the operation, in addition to the arrest and car seizure, the authorities seized computers, documentation and cell phones, which will be examined in order to determine the presence of incriminating evidence.
Stop control
Likewise, this Monday at five in the afternoon, Néstor S. was taken to court, where the detention control hearing was held, from which no further developments emerged. The judicial act was led by Judge Jorge Patrizi and the person involved had the technical defense of Dr. Agustín Márquez, from the Díaz Duarte law firm. Meanwhile, the accusing party had the presence of prosecutor Grimberg.

It was at five in the afternoon and the formalities are in principle completed, that is why there was no objection on our part,” Dr. Márquez told El Litoral.
Repeated scams
Asked about the reason for the arrest, the professional admitted that they still do not have sufficient information, but that “apparently it would be a set of complaints about scams that would have to do with the construction of prefabricated houses that were not completed in time and shape”.
This information will be known this Thursday at the imputative attribution hearing, whose schedule and IPP judge are not yet known. Meanwhile, Néstor S. remains housed in the 7th Section. of the local police.
