Road accidents continue to be the main cause of preventable deaths in the world and the number of children and young people between 5 and 29 years old who lose their lives due to this cause. It is a scourge that still does not find viability in many cities not only in Argentina but also internationally. In Salta, in a period of 24 hours, there were accidents that miraculously reported no deaths, however the magnitude of the events caused the alert to remain red.

On Sunday, at 9 p.m., the driver of a Ford truck, M 1722, lost control and ended up crashing into a house in the Portezuelo Chico neighborhood. The image is shocking, the large vehicle was inserted into one of the walls of the house.

The truck driver stated that he had lost control due to mechanical reasons, given that the truck suffered damage while going down the street located in Block 127. At that moment, according to the driver, the engine turned off and he was unable to maintain control. the vehicle on the asphalt.

“It was a miracle, he could have gone deeper into the house and caused a tragedy. Thank God there were no injuries,” said one of the uniformed officers who was alerted and worked at the scene.

Complicated morning

Yesterday, during the morning, at the intersection of Coronel Moldes and Mendoza streets, a car and a truck collided. Although there were no injuries reported, only material damage, the impact was of great magnitude and caused fear among the neighbors.

People in the area pointed out that at this intersection accidents are usually common due to the high speeds at which vehicles travel, especially those that circulate on Coronel Moldes Street.

Another of the violent accidents that occurred yesterday morning occurred in the Castañares neighborhood, northern area, on Reimundin Avenue. Fifteen minutes before the crash in the city center, at 7:15 a.m., a Peugeot 206, driven by a woman, collided with a Fiat, the violence of the impact caused the first vehicle to climb onto the sidewalk and come very close to becoming embedded. with the wall of a house.

“I was crossing when the driver of the other car hit me, she never even managed to brake, when I asked her for the papers and all the information she told me that she did not have a driving license and that the car was not hers, but a third party’s.” said Sergio Ontiveros, one of those involved in the road accident.

I would be a police officer

At the scene, for some, the presence of the director of Road Safety, Adrián Sanchez Rosado, was striking, however, and according to what Ontiveros told El Tribuno, the woman on board the car that hit him “is shocked, she is a police officer and they won’t let me speak.” with her to exchange the data. I am going to file the complaint and present all the papers because I have everything in order,” he noted.

Among so many pales in road matters, the only thing that can be rescued from the events that occurred in the last hours in the province was that there were no fatalities to be regretted, not even seriously injured people. Only material damage that sets off alarms anyway.
