In the department of Cauca, specifically in the municipality of Cajibío, and in Valle del Cauca, in the township of Potrerito, belonging to the municipality of Jamundí, attacks against police stations were reported. These events, which took place on Wednesday, were carried out by dissident groups of the FARC.

In Potrerito, the attackers used explosives and rifle shots in their attack on the local police station, causing an atmosphere of fear in the community. This situation led many residents to choose to remain inside their homes.

Faced with these acts of harassment, the Army has mobilized its forces to the area in order to protect citizens and restore public order.

The municipal administration of Jamundí has ​​issued a statement informing that local and national authorities are coordinating efforts to control the situation and prevent an increase in violence.

Likewise, they urge the population to remain calm, stay at home and follow the recommendations of the authorities to ensure their well-being and that of their families.

In a related event, an attack was also reported in the early hours of the day at the Cajibío police station, although no injuries were reported in this incident.

Reports indicate that behind these attacks could be the group led by someone known by the alias ‘Ivan Mordisco’.
