The Metropolitan Police of Santa Marta, under the direction of Colonel Jorge Andrés Bernal, announced the security balance during the weekend with a festive long weekend in the capital of the Magdalena department, which was guarded with a police force of at least 1,000 uniformed in all their specialties throughout the city.
As reported by the authorities, 34 people were captured for different crimes, “32 of the arrests were flagrante delicto and 2 by court order for various crimes,” the police institution expressed in its weekly document.
Likewise, the police entity seized 1 firearm and managed to recover 8 motorcycles and 3 vehicles that had been stolen in isolated incidents.
In addition, at least 90 knives were seized and more than 133 summonses were filed by uniformed officers from the Quadrant Surveillance Unit of the Santa Marta Metropolitan Police, in different urban areas of the District.
In the preventive part, 49 prevention campaigns were carried out among (EMFAG) violence against women and aimed at counteracting high-impact crimes such as homicide, extortion, consumption of psychoactive substances and theft in all its forms.
Likewise, the police institution continues to deploy the “Security Caravan” strategy and that opportunity reached the sectors of Ciudad Equidad, 17 de Diciembre neighborhood, Magdalena University sector, Manzanares neighborhood and the Historic Center of the city with everything. a complete component of the specialties of the National Police in coordination with the administrative authorities of the city of Santa Marta.
