Campaign during the Copa América seeks to reduce traffic accidents in Yopal » PRENSA LIBRE CASANARE

Understanding the excitement generated by the development of the most significant sporting event on the continent, Copa América de Fútbol 2024, the Yopal Mobility Secretariat continues to strengthen and socialize the ‘Enough Excuses, Not One More’ campaign.

Initiative that seeks to reduce traffic accidents due to consumption of alcoholic beverages and excess speed, and that contemplates four fundamental axes: not transporting more than two people on motorcycles, using appropriate protection elements, wearing a seat belt and avoiding consuming under the effects of alcohol.

To achieve this, the Ministry of Mobility has been carrying out road controls and breathalyzer tests, with which road accidents have been reduced by 35% and accidents with injuries by 44%.

“We reduced the accident rate, going from 38 to 26 fatalities, thanks to the effectiveness of the controls that we have been carrying out periodically and the road safety awareness campaigns,” said Diego Peralta, Deputy Commander of Yopal Traffic.

The Municipal Administration reiterated to the citizens that it will continue to promote road safety for all actors, in order to guarantee safe environments for the people of Yopal.
