The Musical capital of Colombia is getting ready for the 50th version of the Colombian Folk Festival, activities that will take place from June 15 to July 1 and more than 400 thousand tourists are expected to participate and enjoy the cultural events.

“For this 2024, we have done a great promotion of our festival, selling it to all of Colombia as the event that brings together the cultural wealth of the country in one place. If you couldn’t attend the Black and White Festival or the Barranquilla Carnival, come to Ibagué. We will have samples of what that festival has been and what is experienced with the Cali culture, as well as the different areas of our country,” declared Aranda.

In its 50th edition, The festival projects an attendance of approximately 950 thousand peoplepositive impact for hotel occupancy that is expected to be on average over 88% and a maximum point of 100% in some sectors of the city, as the date approaches.

“We have worked hand in hand with the hotel sector to be very good hosts and guarantee great attention to tourists from their arrival. We hope to receive more than 300 thousand people in our accommodations, 50 thousand that will arrive through the Transport Terminal and about 5 thousand from the Perales Airport. In addition, we have coordinated with Avianca and LATAM to ensure effective connectivity without problems,” added the mayor.

Likewise, the local government presented the programming with over 60 free events for attendees of all ages among which are concerts, the San Juan and San Pedro parades, fairs, folklore exhibitions, and more.
