The Superintendence of Surveillance and Private Security (Supervigilancia) reported on the recent intervention carried out in response to the operation of a motorized and armed security front in Sincelejo.
Following the information disseminated on social media and in the media about this situation, the entity took measures due to the seriousness of the case.
All this is due to the fact that on June 21, the Superintendency, through the Super Delegate for the Control of Supervigilance, carried out a extraordinary visit inspection of the Private Security and Surveillance Company VIPERS LTDA.
During this visit, The conditions under which private security and surveillance services were being provided were evaluated in accordance with contract LP-001-2024, signed between the municipality of Sincelejo and VIPERS LTDA.
As a result of the inspection, the Deputy Superintendent for Control (E) issued a precautionary measure ordering the immediate suspension of all patrol activities and any other action related to the conservation and restoration of public order, tasks that are the exclusive responsibility of the public force according to the constitutional mission.
The Supervigilance reiterates the importance of both private surveillance and security companies and their contractors strictly respecting the provisions of the Decree Law. 356 of 1994, known as the Private Surveillance and Security Statute, to guarantee public trust and protect the rights and freedoms of the community.
This action underlines the Supervigilance’s commitment to the control, inspection and surveillance of the sector, ensuring that all private security and surveillance operations in the country are carried out within the established legal framework.
