To update the Competitiveness Agenda and prioritize strategic projects that promote productivity and innovation in the Atlantic, the workshop to socialize the Agile Methodology tool was held, dictated by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism and Colombia Productiva.

The Government of Atlántico, the Regional Commission of Competitiveness and Innovation of the department and the actors that make up the ecosystem (academia, private sector, municipal governments) participated in the workshop to socialize the Agile Methodology tool.

According to the Secretary of Departmental Planning, Cecilia Arango, this day of joint construction of the Competitiveness Agenda brought together various actors from the department’s competitiveness and innovation ecosystems, including academia, the private sector, the Chamber of Commerce and governments. municipal, in order to chart the path that projects the Atlantic as a territory up to the challenge of internationalization posed by the governor, Eduardo Verano.

“Together with the national government we are working to define the new Atlantic Competitiveness Agenda, which will allow us to outline complementary challenges to the development plan, but also integrate regionally and, since regional strategic plans are being built, this It will be a fundamental input to add to the construction of the development of the Colombian Caribbean region,” indicated the Secretary of Planning.

The technical secretary of the Atlantic Regional Commission for Competitiveness and Innovation (CRCIA), Gabriel Orozco, assured that the support of Mincomercio and Colombia Productiva is key to, through the methodology presented, being able to identify projects and reveal what the strategic areas are. in which the department has to invest to advance in closing gaps.

“The Atlantic is one of the most competitive departments at the national level, it is the third, so we have to move forward in updating the Competitiveness Agenda, which responds to the current needs and challenges of the region, and to be able to generate a new decree on the new regulations of the regional competitiveness and innovation commissions. In this exercise we have had the participation of different actors, the clusters and the community to generate synergies and be able to impact society,” said Orozco, who added that two more workshops will soon be held in the subregions of the department to include more actors in the co-construction of the Competitiveness Agenda.

The territorial advisor of Colombia Productiva, Ernesto Vergara, explained that the projects that are prioritized in the Competitiveness Agenda must be in tune with the National and departmental Development Plan, as well as with the productive bets of the Atlantic.

“This training seeks for the Competitiveness Commission to update its agenda, prioritize high-impact strategic projects, which not only promote productive bets and the popular economy, but also allow to reduce the gaps where the department is furthest behind, involving the communities in the subregions of the department. And, to achieve this, the coordination of all actors is essential: academia, private sector, civil society and governments,” the official highlighted.

Within the framework of this workshop, the technical secretary of the CRCIA recalled that on June 18, the launch of the Departmental Competitiveness Index 2024 will be held in Barranquilla, a useful diagnostic tool to outline the goals of the departmental development plans.
