Santiago de Cuba, June 12.– To the rhythm of a conga and with a splendid opening gala in Céspedes Park, the 45th edition of the Santiago culture week began this Monday, which will last until the 16th in various locations in this city. city, declared creative of music by UNESCO.

The Week is dedicated to the prominent researcher Olga Portuondo Zúñiga, Historian of the City who celebrated her 80th birthday on May 27, as well as to the artists Gretell Arrate and Berto Luis Ruano. During the festivities, interventions will be carried out in neighborhoods in transformation and in academic spaces; also a significant number of book presentations and exchanges with the bearers of traditional popular knowledge.
