He Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPF) stepped on the brake and stopped the unification and closures of tax offices. The measure, which was going to be implemented starting next Monday, was deferred “until further notice” at the request of different sectors.

On June 6, three resolutions (230, 231 and 236) signed by the attorney general came to light Alejandro Gullé that pointed to the “organization and distribution of tax offices” throughout the province, in a sensitive context due to staff complaints linked, among other points, to night shifts, overload hours and passive guards.

Almost a month before, on April 11, the General Coordination of the MPF had proposed to Gullé two alternatives to resolve the conflict: add 38 fiscal assistants or close offices in the four judicial districts. The option chosen by the Attorney General’s Office was the second.

Thus, it was decided to concentrate attention on fewer tax offices, shrinking the structure of the MPF. According to him, this determination triggered appeals for revocation and also provoked complaints from mayorswho protested the closure of some tax offices.

Gullé’s resolutions also established that tax assistants must provide their services “actively, that is, with an effective presence 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.”

This last point was objected to by the judicial unionswho are negotiating salary and labor improvements within the framework of the mandatory conciliation issued by the Undersecretary of Labor. The two unions in the sector (employees and civil servants) have carried out various forceful measures since March, including strikes, resenting the Justice service.

Faced with this situation, Gullé signed resolution 252/2024 this Wednesday to “defer the implementation of the organization and distribution of Tax Offices provided by Resolutions No. 230/2024, No. 2031/2024 and No. 236/2024, until further provision.”

“It is a show of good will to bring the parties closer to mandatory conciliation.”“They explained from the MPF.
