Faced with this, in April of last year, “Argentinos for Education” launched together with more than 190 organizations throughout the country the National Campaign for Literacy with the clear objective that the boys and girls of Argentina understand what they read.
The national State and all the provincial governments were involved in this, under what was called “Literacy Commitment”. Each jurisdiction committed to developing a public literacy policy plan. This also includes technical support to the provinces and the transfer of resources by the national State and the periodic implementation of Learning tests in third grade that evaluate reading comprehension.
Neuquén is one of the 4 jurisdictions in the country that presented its proposal for 100% of initial level establishments and for all primary level schools. “Accompany and strengthen the teaching practices of reading and writing throughout schooling, through training paths of an institutional dimension, which promote a process of territoriality that constitutes an enhancement of the identity features of the Neuquén provincial territory”, is the objective presented by Neuquén for initial and primary level.
