All the unions grouped in the General Labor Center (CGT), the Workers’ Union of Autonomous Argentina (CTAA), social organizations and political parties marched yesterday, Wednesday, against the Base Law.

There were boos against the senator Juan Carlos Romero who expressed his positive vote for the approval of the law.

They also accompanied sectors of the National University of Salta, Human Rights organizations, and feminist movements, in a march that was peaceful and of great magnitude. The concentration was in the Town Hall. Then the protesters marched towards the Legislature where the leaders and social leaders spoke. The closing was carried out by Carlos Rhodeshead of the CGT.

“We fight for our children’s children, because we are going to have a chaotic future, because we do not want to reach 76, we do not want to reach 90. We do not want the perversity of the president who removed subsidies from the poor,” Rodas said in his speech.

“What a greater perversity they have that they have taken away subsidies and medications from the terminally ill. What greater perversity than taking away disability benefits,” the leader warned.

“We cannot talk about unity or the national and popular movement of workers when they are destroying those who created the large companies for us to work, who are our retirees. In the political movement we have traitors,” he added.

The protest had as its slogan that the Base Law not be approved because “it deepens and guarantees the looting of natural common goods.”

It also seeks labor reform that enables dismissals without cause and without compensation and makes working conditions even more precarious. The most important thing is that he proposes the delegation of superpowers to the president Javier Milei.
